A Lafayette Parish grand jury on Wednesday indicted a Lafayette man for the July shooting death of his brother.
The grand jury handed up a second-degree murder indictment of Leonta Clay, 28, in connection with the death of his brother, Javonta Clay, 23. Javonta was found dead at the Holy Family Apartments on Louisiana Avenue. He had been shot.
Leonta Clay was arrested about a week later, accused of his brother’s slaying.
If convicted, Clay faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
