The Lafayette Fire Department has now cleared the scene of a house fire on Rena Drive.
Residents in the area tell KATC smoke from the home began covering the nearby streets just before 9:00 am Tuesday. The house is located near the corner of Rena Drive and Ayreshire Drive.
KATC has learned that the back of the home has been severely damaged by the fire. The fire is now out but firefighters have not said if anyone was injured in this fire.
Neighbors tell KATC’s Dannielle Garcia that no one was home at the time of the fire and that no one was injured.
The cause remains under investigation.
