LAFAYETTE, La. — Some local TV stations, including KATC TV3, were temporarily off the air for some viewers Thursday because of a brown outage in the Acadia Parish area.
Viewers may be having trouble catching your local TV station.
A brown outage is a temporary, partial reduction in an electrical power supply system.
SLEMCO was working on the issue and says that it has resolved the outage.
"They just need to go and make sure that the line gets put back where it's supposed to be on top of the pole," said Mary Laurent, spokesperson for SLEMCO.
The cause for the damage is unknown at this time.
KATC should be back on the air shortly. We are powering up the generator at the tower until the outage can be fixed.
KATC will also be airing the debates on katc.com/live, the KATC apps and our Facebook page.
