A group of bicyclists is riding to raise awareness about Rett Syndrome.
The group passed through New Iberia earlier today as part of their 2,300-mile cross-country trek.
They are trying to raise $250,000 for research into the syndrome’s cause.
The cyclists are expected to finish their journey next Saturday in Florida.
“Life is a struggle for these kids and it will continue to be until we do something about it.,” Kacey Byers. “We have a saying between the two of us and that is it only pain and that pain is nothing by comparison of what our kids go through”
