Jennings man arrested accused in attempted vehicle break-ins, police station vadalism

The Jennings Police Department has arrested a man they say was attempting to break into cars at a local trailer park.

Early Friday morning September 7, 2018, officers with the Jennings Police Department say they responded to Paradise Trailer Park in reference to a man attempting to break into cars.

While en route officers were advised that the man, who was described as not wearing a shirt, was attempting to leave in a green Toyota Camry. Officers arrived and located the green Toyota Camry occupied by Keegan Chapman. Chapman.

He was detained due to the investigation and subsequently arrested.

While being processed, Chapman allegedly vandalized the wall inside the booking room at the Jennings Police Department. He was later transferred to Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s jail on charges of simple burglary and criminal damage to property.

An investigation is still ongoing.
