The storm sent an alligator out of his/her usual spot and into the street in Jeanerette today.
Clarence Clark, a Jeanerette alderman and volunteer fire chief, posted video of the alligator’s apprehension.
Sherry Landry, also a volunteer fire chief, said the State Wildlife and Fisheries sent their nuisance alligator handler, who captured the reptile so it could be relocated to a safe place. The alligator was about 200 lbs., five to six feet in length.
