State Police have identified the person killed in a crash on Hwy 675 near US 90 in Iberia Parish.
Troopers say the two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 3:15 pm Thursday on LA Hwy 675 near US 90 in Iberia Parish. The crash took the life of 84-year-old Reving Broussard, Jr. of New Iberia.
The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as a vehicle was traveling south on LA Hwy 675. At the same time, Broussard was heading west on the west frontage road of US 90. For reasons unknown, Broussard failed to yield at the intersection and he was struck by the other vehicle.
The occupant of the other vehicle was wearing a seat belt and was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Broussard, troopers say, was not properly restrained and suffered fatal injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberia Parish Coroner.
Impairment is not suspected for either driver. This crash remains under investigation.
