Hydrant flushing will continue on Thursday night in the City of Jeanerette.
Flushing work began on Wednesday at 9:00 pm and continued until midnight. Work will continue tonight, Thursday, April 11, from 9:00 pm until midnight.
The city says the flushing is necessary to clear sediments and debris from its water system.
Residents shouldn’t experience any interruptions in water service as a result of the work. A temporary drop in water pressure or discoloration may be experienced by residents who live near the flushing work.
The city recommends that customers let their cold water run to clear before using it again and refrain from doing laundry during that time.
