UPDATE: The New Iberia Police Department says that one person was injured in shooting Wednesday night on Pelican Street.
The department says the shooting occurred around 9:55 pm on Wednesday on Pelican Street near its intersection with Sere Street.
According to police, the victim received a non-life threatening injury as a result of the shooting. That person was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
An investigation is still ongoing. The department says that no suspects have been determined at this time.
