One person is dead following a mobile home fire in Jeanerette this morning.
Firefighters with Fire District 11 responded to the fire on Edward Lane off of Big Four Corners Road around 7 a.m. and saw the mobile home engulfed in flames.
According to the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal, witnesses say three people escaped the mobile home initially, but one person went back inside to get something and never made it back out.
The identity of the male victim has yet to be identified.
The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
