Law enforcement deputies from the Jeanerette City Marshals Office will hand out candy, hotdogs, hamburgers, and cold drinks to children in Jeanerette who are trick-or-treating during the “Don’t’ fear the night. Eat, drink, be scary, and safe” event.
Officers from the Jeanerette Marshals Office and the Jeanerette City Police Department will be in Jeanerette
neighborhoods on Halloween from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Handing out treats to children and their families is a great way to interact with community members. The officers will provide an increased presence in neighborhoods during Halloween and give motorists a visible reminder to drive safely on a night when many children are present, a release from the office states.
