Catholic High School New Iberia held their Senior Service Day today.

All day, all around New Iberia, students reported to 14 different locations, along with teachers, staff and volunteers to help out at non-profit agencies.

Among those who got some support from the school today were the Iberia Council on Aging, Chez Hope, Solomon House, Consolata, St. Francis Diner and Arc of Iberia.

“Today is senior community service day, and we’re here at Goodwill. We have 20 seniors here moving clothes, hanging them up and getting them ready for sale here at Goodwill,” said Brent Indest, athletic director and head football coach at Catholic High. “We’ve got nearly 100 seniors spread out throughout the community today, doing service projects. It’s part of our Catholic faith, we feel its important to get out and serve the community, just to be good people, good Christians. It’s exciting because the kids have really embraced it and they’re really enjoying themselves.”
