It’s never too early for Mardi Gras, right?

Revelers in Iberia Parish are raising funds for New Iberia’s Mardi Gras Parade next year.

This evening, the Bayou Mardi Gras Association is hosting Bourbon Street on the Bayou, their first fundraiser to support the parade.

The party is going on until 10 p.m. at the Steamboat Pavilion.

In 2017, after a two-year hiatus, the Bayou Mardi Gras Association formed the parade so those living in Iberia Parish could enjoy Mardi Gras in the city of New Iberia.

“Since its inception, the parade has been seen as a catalyst for many projects and a renewed pride in Iberia Parish. We received a great deal of positive feedback and appreciation from the community. We hope to use the parade to continue to construct this sense of pride going forward”, said Pat Norris, Bayou Mardi Gras Association President.

Money raised tonight will go directly toward the parade as the association aims to make it bigger and better in 2019.
