Officials with the Iberia Parish Mosquito Abatement District will conduct aerial operations in the parish beginning tonight and continuing throughout the week. Operations will begin tonight, Tuesday, September 18 in the Coteau Holmes area. The areas of Laurent, Sugar Oaks and Coteau will also see mosquito operations this week, according to the District.
The District asks citizens to wear repellent, cover exposed skin and avoid outdoor activity when mosquitoes are most active. Operations will begin near sunset and last approximately one and one-half hours with weather permitting.
Hypersensitive individuals or those wishing to avoid exposure to chemicals used in spraying operations should refrain from outdoor activities. All others may proceed as normal.
