ORIGINAL: Officials are working to open Interstate 10 Westbound between Baton Rouge and Lafayette.

We're told the westbound side of the highway should be open soon; if all goes well the eastbound side will be opened as well.

"I-10 and I-12 in Baton Rouge will begin to re-open today in various phases. The current plan is to open I-10 WB at LA 415 followed by I-10 WB at the I-10/I-12 split, then I-10 EB at LA 415, then I-10 EB from Lafayette and from I-12 at Airline Hwy," a tweet from DOTD states.

We'll update this story as we have more information.
