At a meeting held January 26, Honor Flight Louisiana officially set the dates for their 2020 flying season to Washington, D.C.
The organization announced that on April 25 and October 3, flights will leave from Louisiana to Washington, D.C. with veterans from World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War.
The trips to the nation's capital are all-expenses paid and take veterans to the city's dedicated war memorials. Veterans make visits to the National Mall to experience the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and Korean and Vietnam War Memorials, among others.
Groups make a stop at Arlington National Cemetery to witness the Changing of the Guard and take part in a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Honor flight says that over 40 veterans have applied to take part in the 2020 flying season. Eligible veterans are encouraged to apply.
