Medical personnel and first responders in Broussard can stay at the Hampton or LaQuinta Inn for free.
Divi Hospitality, the management company for both hotels, says this is their way of saying thank you to all first responders.
It's all part of the effort to give back to those who are on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis.
"I just can't imagine what they're going through you know," said Brittany Perry, Regional Director of Operations. " And with us and all these rooms available at the hotel we decided why not just give back to the community and allow them to come stay in our clean, comfortable rooms you know."
Perry says that the complimentary rooms are located on a designated floor in the hotel and will be blocked off for medical personnel and first responders.
"We have implemented stringent safety procedures to assist those at higher risk of exposure while protecting the health of our team members. We have been closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization statements regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. We are working daily to ensure that we are in compliance with the latest guidance on hygiene and cleaning. We have amped up our cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items."
They have also increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces, with a focus on the counter at the front desk, elevators (and elevator buttons), door handles, public bathrooms and even room keys. Also seeing an increase in cleaning are the hotels back-of-house work space and high-touch areas like team member entrances, locker rooms, laundry rooms and staff offices.
"Now more than ever, we are committed to doing everything we can to support our local communities. We are in this together and can't stress enough how much we appreciate the support from our community," Perry said.
The Hampton Inn by Hilton is located on 2280 E Main St, Broussard and LaQuinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham is located on 104 Sweetland Ave in Broussard.
