After the Cajuns defeated Troy earlier this evening, KATC stopped by Cajun Field to hear what some fans had to say.
Fans were excited for UL's big win, which clinched the Sun Belt West title for the Cajuns.
Although some fans left Cajun Field early, many more stuck around to celebrate the victory.
And for longtime and die hard Cajuns fans, it's a celebration they've looked forward to since Week 1.
Ed Domingues said, "I think it's fantastic to be at this point of the season and having won nine games and still have a game to play. We've never been in this position before."
Another fan, Tim Leblanc, explained that the game was an entertaining one for fans.
"I just thought that the Cajuns stepped on the gas early and never took the foot off the petal. There was never a lull and the enthusiasm, the excitement, the energy we played with."
Rusty Noel said he hopes the team's fans gain morale and attendance at the games increases.
"It's a step in the right direction and that's what we need here in Lafayette for our Cajuns."
"To beat them like we did. I mean, right off the bat, that was great. It wasn't hard on the heart," said Ronnie Louviere.
The Cajuns take on ULM next Saturday.
