Ville Platte man wanted in break in and assault turns himself in

Police say Corey Thomas went to the Ville Platte Police Department and turned himself in on the evening of June 27, 2019.


Police asking for assistance locating a suspect wanted in connection with a break in and assault in Ville Platte.

Chief Neal Lartigue says that on June 16, 2019 officers responded to an incident where man allegedly forced his way into a residence and assaulted multiple women inside the home.  Upon the leaving the residence, the suspect identified as 27-year-old Corey Thomas, allegedly broke the windows of a vehicle in the driveway.

The investigation led to a warrant for Thomas whose last known address along State Avenue in Ville Platte. Thomas is wanted for one count of home invasion, one count of criminal damage to property, one count of criminal damage to property, and four counts of simple battery.
