The Dodi Groves Breast Cancer Foundation hosted the 2019 Witches Ride on Saturday to celebrate survivors of breast cancer. The goal was to "Pink Out The Pond" - Sugarmill Pond in Youngsville, that is, where the ride took place.

The ride will benefit the Dodi Groves Foundation. Groves was a wife, mother, educator, daughter, and friend who lost her battle to breast cancer, but her family says she left her legacy in Acadiana.

Today's ride started at 4 p.m. and lasted until 7.

It featured a one mile run run/walk and a family bike ride.

Following the ride, organizers honored all breast cancer survivors with a pinning ceremony on stage and showcased the survivors on a cat walk.

Dodi's sister, Dana Fuller, explained why the fundraiser is so important.

"Dodi really loved to help people. She was a real giver, she was a teacher, and she gave a lot to her students and her communities. So she would love the fact that it stays here in Acadiana. And help women fight the battle that her family fought."
