LAFAYETTE, La. - A Lafayette credit union is sponsoring an area wide scavenger hunt where participants can use clues to hunt for money.
Meritus Credit Union launched Monday its "5K for Black Friday Scavenger Hunt" where Acadiana residents have a chance to win extra cash by finding one of 15 "meri-tickets" valued between $250-$1,000.
Participants do not need to be members to enter the search and can find meri-tickets throughout Meritus Credit Union's service area in Acadia, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Martin and Vermilion Parishes.

All participants will have until the end of the week to both find and cash in their meri-tickets by Black Friday, November 29 before noon at any branch.
