27 inspirational children from across Acadiana were recognized today for struggles and obstacles they have overcome.
Cox Communications honored their 2019 Inspirational Heroes tonight at the Petroleum Club in Lafayette.
The event recognized students battling cancer, thriving despite visual impairment, managing football teams while living with autism, and more.
Cox threw an ice cream party for the kids and they were honored at tonight's event. The students ranged from Pre-K to seniors in high school.
David D'Aquin, Public Affairs Manager at Cox, explained why he believes the event is so important to local youth.
"I think what we take away from it is that everybody is important, everybody matters, and sometimes the smallest little token of appreciation can let people feel really special."
