COVID-19 percent positivity rates remain high in Acadiana parishes for week ending Dec. 2

All parishes in Acadiana reporting more than 5% positivity rate

The Louisiana Department of Health is reporting that percent positivity rates for several parishes across Acadiana remain high, as every parish's most recent percent positivity rate was more than 5% for the last two weeks.

According to the Louisiana Department of Health, here are the percent positivity rates for each parish in Acadiana as of Wednesday, Dec. 9:

Acadia

  • Nov. 26 - Dec. 2: 12.50%
  • Nov. 19 - Nov. 25: 10.50%
  • Week-to-week change: +19.00%

Evangeline

  • Nov. 26 - Dec. 2: 11.20%
  • Nov. 19 - Nov. 25: 9.00%
  • Week-to-week change: +24.40%

Jeff Davis

  • Nov. 26 - Dec. 2: 12.50%
  • Nov. 19 - Nov. 25: 9.10%
  • Week-to-week change: +37.40%

Iberia

  • Nov. 26 - Dec. 2: 12.70%
  • Nov. 19 - Nov. 25: 10.50%
  • Week-to-week change: +21.00%

Lafayette

  • Nov. 26 - Dec. 2: 13.00%
  • Nov. 19 - Nov. 25: 10.90%
  • Week-to-week change: +19.30%

St. Landry

  • Nov. 26 - Dec. 2: 11.30%
  • Nov. 19 - Nov. 25: 11.00%
  • Week-to-week change: +2.70%

St. Martin

  • Nov. 26 - Dec. 2: 12.90%
  • Nov. 19 - Nov. 25: 13.50%

St. Mary

Vermilion

  • Nov. 26 - Dec. 2: 13.00%
  • Nov. 19 - Nov. 25: 9.90%
  • Week-to-week change: +35.40%

According to the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, as of Dec. 2, only four parishes in the state fall under the 5% percent positivity threshold to allow bars to have indoor consumption under the governor's latest proclamation. Those are:

  1. Orleans Parish
  2. Plaquemines Parish
  3. St. Bernard Parish
  4. St. John the Baptist

The governor's latest emergency order went into effect Wednesday, Nov. 25 and moved the state back into a modified Phase 2 where bars that are in parishes that exceed 5% positivity for two consecutive weeks are required to cease serving patrons indoors.
