In preparation for Tropical System Beta, The Cameron Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness would like to remind everyone that the entire Parish is still under a Mandatory Order of Evacuation.

A curfew remains in place that prevents people from traveling on the roadways between the hours 8:00PM and 6:00AM in the interest of public safety.

Possible Effects from this system include:
• Heavy rainfall
• Strong wind gusts
• High water
• Uprooted trees

There is still a lot of debris that could fly around or float back onto the roadways causing extremely hazardous conditions. Keep in mind that emergency services are limited.

Travel trailers that have been brought into coastal areas for work purposes should be pulled out. If you have been working at your property, please make sure to secure as much as you can and have your roof tarped if you haven’t done so. Sandbags could also help to negate some potential water damage.
