Identity of body found in Cameron Parish revealed

The body was found along Sweetlake Camp Road in Cameron Parish has been identified as 32-year-old Mitzie B. Galimidi of Lake Charles.

Investigators say there are no obvious signs of trauma, but they are treating the death as a homicide.

Cameron Parish Sheriff Ron Johnson told KATC that whoever dumped the body tried to burn it. Only a small part of the body was burnt allowing investigators to identify the body as Galimidi.

Cameron and Calcasieu Sheriff’s Departments are now trying to obtain surveillance video and any other information to help determine the last time Galimidi was seen.
