Dongsung FineTec to hold job fair in Lake Charles

Dongsung FineTec International will hold a job fair on Wednesday,  September 19, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the American Job Center (AJC) in Lake Charles.

According to the Louisiana Workforce Commission and Louisiana Economic Development, the company is looking to fill several hourly and salaried positions.

The company plans to create 30 new direct jobs with an average annual salary of $40,000, plus benefits. Twelve positions will be filled during the upcoming job fair.

Dongsung FineTec International is a South Korean company that specializes in the creation of cryogenic insulation for the natural gas industry. The Lake Charles facility, which was expected to begin operations in August 2018, is the company’s first manufacturing investment in the United States, according to LWC.

Hourly positions to be filled include:

CNC Router Operator; CNC Laser Cutting Machine Operator; Maintenance Mechanical Technician; Maintenance Electrical Technician; Fabrication Factory Worker; Foam Wire Cutting Machine Operator; Metal Jacket (Sheet Metal) Processing Worker; and Metal Jacket Sheet Metal Foreman.

Salaried positions include:

Production Planner; Purchasing Specialist; Quality Control Specialist; and Quality Control Inspector.

LWC says that they will serve as the company’s go-to entity for hiring, training, placement and workforce development.

LWC says candidates must be 18 or older and have a high-school diploma or an equivalent with at least two years of fabrication experience. In addition to at least two years of other industrial experience, candidates must also be willing to work shift work and some holidays,  work well with team members, and be willing to take a drug screen test.
