Arnaudville-based Bayou Teche Brewery is setting aside the brew and starting to produce hand sanitizer amid the spread of COVID-19.
Founder Karlos Knott told KPEL 96.5 that his operation recently received approval from the federal government and began producing sanitizer on Tuesday.
Bayou Teche Brewery partnered up with Le Bon Voisin to make the project happen. Residents donated to the organization, which serves local nursing home residents, and Le Bon Voisin then purchased ingredients for Bayou Teche Brewery's new product.
The hand sanitizer will be donated to local doctor's offices, nursing homes, and other businesses or organizations in need.
