Louisiana Jeepers held a Christmas event at Ricky Smith Audio in Lafayette Saturday.
The event featured a Toys for Tots drive, along with various area businesses which hosted holiday-themed activities for kids.
Twins Burgers and Sweets helped children make gingerbread houses, and Melodi's Belles and Beaus was able to bring 'reindeer food' as a special treat. The store also hosted story time, and Santa made a special appearance for photos.
Organizers explain that the toy drive is important to help out those who may need assistance during difficult times.
"[It's] extremely important. Many kids in our area, it's very tough times right now, not only with the hurricane but also the pandemic," said Kiesha Trahan with Louisiana Jeepers. "People are unable to get out and financially it's been a struggle for our community."
