and last updated

All three Grand Theatre locations in Acadiana will soon welcome customers back to the movies.

The theatres will be reopening on August 28, the company said in an announcement Tuesday on Facebook. All three Grand locations in Acadiana, two in Lafayette and one in New Iberia, will adhere to all CDC, state, and local government guidance as the theatres open their doors.

Staff will continue to clean all high touch surface areas at least every 30 minutes; every theatre seat is cleaned after each use as well.

Masks are required in all common areas, including the lobby, concession stand area, corridors, and restrooms. Masks my be removed in auditoriums, as socially distanced seating will be enforced. Employees are also required to wear masks during their shifts.

Staff members will have temperatures checked before each shift, and stickers are in place to help ensure social distancing in areas of close proximity.

The first movie shown at the Acadiana locations will be The New Mutants.
