PREVIOUS: A boil advisory has been issued for the Village of Mermentau.
The advisory was issued as a precautionary measure after a chlorination pump failed.
The advisory will be in effect until further notice. A spokesperson for the village predicts the advisory will last about 6 days.
When under a boil advisory, you need to boil your water for one full minutes before consumption.
