Rayne rescinds boil advisory

Posted

A boil advisory for the City of Rayne has been rescinded.

The boil advisory was issued for areas of 7th Street to 9th Street and from Butler Street to American Legion Drive as a precautionary measure.

A loss of water pressure Tuesday due to water line repairs within the water supply system while changing out a fire hydrant prompted the boil order.

The Water Department says that water pressure has been restored within the water supply system above the minimum required level.

Samples collected by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals returned negative for coliform bacteria, according to the department.

The water has been determined safe for consumption.
