Two teenagers were arrested in connection with two vehicle burglaries and shooting incident on Saturday, June 17.

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office says several shots were fired following an early morning vehicle burglary at a residence on Lisa Drive just North of Crowley.

Deputies say the owner of the vehicle was letting his dog out when he allegedly discovered two suspects, ages 17 and 15, attempting to break into his wife’s vehicle. The victim approached the suspects to confront them when they fled the scene. While fleeing, deputies say one of the suspects fired several shots in the direction of the victim.

Deputies say they searched the area following the incident and located both suspects hiding under a trailer near the scene of the incident. The suspects were taken into custody and a firearm was allegedly located under the trailer where they were hiding.

The department says that during the investigation it was discovered that another vehicle in the area had been burglarized. The suspects were allegedly captured on security cameras breaking into that vehicle.

Both juveniles were arrested and booked on one count of burglary, one count attempted aggravated burglary and one count aggravated assault with a firearm. The department says the two were processed at the Acadia Parish Jail and released to the custody of a parent or guardian.

The incident remains under investigation.
