Acadia Parish – A 40-year-old man has died from injuries sustained in a car crash.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on May 19, 2019, troopers with Troop I responded to a serious injury crash on LA 13 at the intersection with LA 92, according to Senior Trooper Jesse LaGrange, spokesperson for Troop C.
This morning, Shawn Abshire died from his injuries at a Lafayette hospital.
The preliminary investigation revealed Abshire was traveling east on LA 92 in a 2002 Chevrolet S-10. Abshire approached the intersection with LA 13 when, for unknown reasons, police say he failed to yield to a vehicle driving southbound on LA 13. Abshire was unrestrained and sustained serious injuries, stated LaGrange.
This crash remains under investigation.
