Crowley Police are one of many departments observing police memorial week.

Monday, the department hosted a ceremony honoring fallen officers. That event was the first of many scheduled throughout Acadiana this week.

The memorial service was held at First Presbyterian Church with a motorcade procession before ceremonies began.

Fallen officers were eulogized during the ceremony remembered for giving the ultimate sacrifice.

The week of observance began on May 12 and will continue through May 18, 2019.

Later this week, the Lafayette Police Department will hold their annual Police Memorial Service at St. Barnabas Church. A motorcade will precede services at 5:30 pm.

According to Lafayette Police, 12 law enforcement agencies will be represented from the Acadiana region, with 22 Fallen Officers being honored to include the 6 police officers killed in the line of duty from the Lafayette Police Department.
