Weather-related road closures in Acadiana

We are starting to get reports of road closures in Acadiana.

In St. Landry Parish, several roads are underwater and the Sheriff’s Office is asking motorists to avoid the area.

  • FISHER RD. (ZONE 2)
  • 182 NORTH (ZONE 1)
  • NURSING HOME RD (ZONE 2)
  • OSCAR RIVETTE RD (ZONE 3)
Two roads are closed in Acadia Parish. In Rayne, W. Harrop St. is closed after a tree fell on the roadway. In Crowley, Northern Avenue is closed in front of Crowley Middle school due to high water.

There are several roads in Church Point closed:

  • North and Main
  • MLK and Amy
  • Sunrise and South Corporation.
  • 100 block of Bienvenu
St. Martin Parish Government cautions all motorists of water accumulation on Highway 70 between Belle River and Stephensville.

DOTD reports that 347 (Cecilia High School Road) in front of Cecilia high school is now closed.

In Lafayette Parish, Scott Police report that the 900 block of Old Spanish Trail is now closed due to flooding. Motorists are asked to not move or go around barricades.

High water is being reported on St. Mary between the railroad tracks and Roy Street. Barricades will be in place blocking St Anne at Cameron and Old Spanish Trail at Sunset due to rising water.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the following road closures and high water areas.

High water has been reported on the following roadways:

  • Arceneaux Road
  • Bottle Brush Lane
  • Gendarme Road
  • Mills Street
  • Renaud Drive
  • Roger Road

The following roads are closed according to the Lafayette Sheriff’s Office:

  • Gouaux Road
  • Old Spanish Trail
  • Saint Anne Street
  • Prejean Road

Carencro Police say that barricades will be in place blocking Prejean Road at Wisteria Bend up to Gourmet Road due to flooding. This road closure is affecting about 40 homes in the area.

In St. Mary Parish,  Railroad Avenue between Pecos Street and Aycock Street in Morgan City is currently closed due to several utility poles down.

Morgan City Police, Morgan City Fire Department, and City Utility Crews are currently on the scene. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.  The city is experiencing power outages because of these downed lines.
