The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim and supect in a homicide Friday morning just north of Mire.
Deputies say they responded to an address in the 200 block of Estella Lane. The investigation has revealed that the victim, identified as 40-year-old Amy Bernard Bourque, was staying at this residence with family members.
Around 7:00 a.m. the victim’s estranged husband, identified as 54-year-old Paul Dale Bourque Sr. of Scott allegedly came to the home and shot the victim.
Amy Bernard Bourque died on scene.
Deputies say that with the assistance of Scott Police were able to locate Bourque and arrest him. He has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail and will be transported to the Acadia Parish Jail on the charges of Aggravated Burglary and First Degree Murder.
Additional charges are pending.
