Rayne teen accused of attempted murder

RAYNE, La. – A Rayne teen is accused of attempted murder for a shooting that happened earlier this month.

Rayne Chief of Police Carroll J. Stelly advised at 6:15 PM on March 14, 2019, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 600 Block of North Chevis Street. The investigation revealed that Tyreese S. Dugas, 18, and another man had an argument over money. Dugas left to retrieve a weapon and returned and shot several times at the victim, according to Stelly. No one was injured in the incident.

Dugas was arrested on March 25, 2019, by Rayne Patrol Officers and booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.

His bond was set at $150,000.
