The Town of Church Point is expected to save nearly $20,000 this year.
Mayor Ryan Meche discovered the town was spending money on things they were no longer using including eight vehicles, seven cell phones and internet services.
Meche says they will use that money on various projects.
“Let’s take that to where it can be used so you can see, feel and touch the difference,” said Meche. “That’s the biggest difference of it all. People are seeing their tax money being spent wisely and not thrown out the window.”
