Wanted Church Point teen arrested on attempted murder charge

A Church Point teen has been arrested in connection to a December shooting.

According to arrest reports, 17-year-old Joseph Casey Wilridge Jr. was arrested on Tuesday by Acadia Parish deputies.

Wilridge was wanted by the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office in connection to a December 21 shooting and attempted robbery at Martin Luther King Park in Church Point.

Two victims received non-life-threatening injuries as a result of that shooting. A second suspect, a juvenile, was arrested following the incident.

Wilridge was arrested and booked in the Acadia Parish Jail on a charge of attempted first-degree murder and four counts armed robbery.

His bond has been set at $450,000.
