An ordinance prohibiting waste management facilities will be up for discussion tonight at the Acadia Parish Police Jury meeting.
Jury members say that the ordinance would prevent out of parish waste in the Acadia Parish landfill. The move comes just weeks after Medgreen, a medical waste company, informed the police jury they were looking at several sites in the parish.
Medgreen previously applied for a location in New Iberia but was rejected by the parish planning and zoning committee. Tonight’s Acadia Parish Police Jury meeting starts at 5:30.
