Charlene’s brother and the hospital chaplain who stayed by her side during the final days of her life will speak of her spirit and how it has touched so many lives.
Richard’s grave has become a place of pilgrimage for thousands of people each year.
Charlene died of acute lymphatic leukemia in on August 11, 1959 at the age of 12 and her family has been working to get her canonized by the Catholic Church. The Mass, which is held in her honor each year, will mark 59 years since her death.
