LAFAYETTE, La. — KATC has your 4 p.m. update on the winter weather in Acadiana along with an update on curfews in the region.
Iberia Parish President Larry Richard also gave an update on conditions in New Iberia and across the parish.
Richard says that his number one concern is always safety, which is on everyone’s mind.
He is asking motorists in Iberia Parish to drive with extreme caution.
According to Richard, there are about 76 outages in Iberia Parish being reported by Cleco. He says there are about 6,398 customers without power as of 4 p.m.
He added that Cleco also has contracted line and vegetation crews who are currently heading to New Iberia who will help Cleco with power restoration efforts.
Richard says that Entergy also has 700 customers without power in Iberia Parish.
He says that Entergy is also waiting for for tree crews to get to New Iberia who will work to remove trees from power lines that are causing power outages.
Richard said that there will be no curfew in Iberia Parish Monday night.
