Here is a list of summer school and camp cancellations due to predicted inclement weather.
ACADIA PARISH
- The ASSIST Agency summer programs and all feeding sites in Acadia and Jeff Davis parishes will be closed tomorrow due to weather. Programs will resume on Friday.
EVANGELINE PARISH
All Evangeline Parish Public School Programs will be closed on Thursday, June 6. Superintendent Lazard says that principals and supervisors are asked to survey campuses and report to their districts.
IBERIA PARISH
- Summer classes in Iberia Parish have been canceled for Thursday, June 6.
- The Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana’s five locations will be closed Thursday, June 6, due to inclement weather. All locations will be closed, including both Lafayette clubs, Abbeville, Opelousas and New Iberia. The clubs are expected to reopen Friday, June 7.
LAFAYETTE PARISH
- All LPSS summer school programs and summer feeding programs are closed tomorrow, June 6, 2019. Personnel hired only for summer school programs do not report to work. All other employees scheduled to work are to report. If weather and road conditions are not safe for travel, notify your supervisor.
- Willow Charter Academy’s summer program will close on Thursday, June 6.
- Covenant Preschool in Lafayette will close on Thursday, June 6.
- Carencro Summer Recreation Program
- The Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana’s five locations will be closed Thursday, June 6, due to inclement weather. All locations will be closed, including both Lafayette clubs, Abbeville, Opelousas and New Iberia. The clubs are expected to reopen Friday, June 7.
- All locations of Sugar ‘n Spice Daycare are closed for Thursday, June 6.
- Gethsemane La Petite in Lafayette is closed Thursday, June 6.
- Small World Daycare in Carencro is closed Thursday, June 6.
- Kids Only II and III in Lafayette are closed Thursday, June 6.
- Camp Adventures Summer Program is closed Thursday, June 6.
- For My Child Learning Center is closed Thursday, June 6.
- Samurai Summer Camp is closed Thursday, June 6.
- Kidscam Camp at First United Methodist Church in Lafayette and Elevation Station in Broussard is closed Thursday, June 6.
- Little Oaks Learning Center on Eraste Landry is closed Thursday, June 6.
JEFF DAVIS PARISH

- Academy of the Sacred Heart Blue Ribbon Camp in Grand Coteau
- The Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana’s five locations will be closed Thursday, June 6, due to inclement weather. All locations will be closed, including both Lafayette clubs, Abbeville, Opelousas and New Iberia. The clubs are expected to reopen Friday, June 7.
ST. MARTIN PARISH
- EOC Summer School at Breaux Bridge High and Cecilia High will be closed June 6
- Extended School Year Program will be closed June 6
- Migrant and Learner Camp will be closed June 6
- Virtual Summer School will be closed June 6
- Teche Elem. Summer School Program will be closed June 6
- Breaux Bridge Summer Enrichment Program will be closed June 6
- Girl Scouts Camp Spy School Bon Temp will be closed June 6
VERMILION PARISH
- Summer school for Migrant and English Language Learners (ELL) is canceled tomorrow. Employees and students who are part of this program do not have to attend school tomorrow. All other twelve-month employees should report to work as normal.
