Power is being restored in Acadiana

Inclement weather caused power outages in Acadiana.

About 25,000 Slemco customers were affected, but according to the company’s spokesperson, power has been restored for the majority of their customers.

Due to the volume of calls Slemco received and traffic to their website, the phone lines and website were having a difficult time keeping up. However, it looks like the website is now functionally normally. If you are a Slemco customer and are still without power, call 1-888-275-3626 or go to www.slemco.com.

Some residents in the City of Abbeville were also without power. Mayor Mark Piazza says a tree fell down and hit a power line. The power line was repaired; however, power was not restored immediately, so crews from Entergy were sent out. According to a power outage map, power has been restored for all Abbeville residents, but if you’re still experiencing an outage, call 1-800-968-8243.
