Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies are cracking down on ATVs on roads after getting complaints from residents.
Anyone caught driving an ATV on a public road could face a fine and could have their ATV impounded.
“We’ve already started writing tickets this past weekend. If we have to, we will impound the four-wheelers. Our goal is to avoid crashes. ATVs are not meant for the roadway; they’re meant for a field and so forth. If you are going to ride an ATV on property that is not yours, please make sure you have permission because we don’t want to have criminal trespassing charges filed,” said Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
