The Lafayette Parish Animal Shelter and Care Center (LASCC) is partnering to host a special dog adoption event at Tractor Supply Co.
The adoption event will happen Saturday, August 25, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Dogs, ranging in age and size, will be onsite and available for adoption.
Tractor Supply, Co. is located at 651 I-10 N. Frontage Rd. in Scott.
The shelter and care center says their facility is currently close to capacity and this event will help reduce that number. According to Shelter Director Shelley Delahoussaye, “We are really hopeful that this event will help place some of our sweet and deserving dogs in their forever homes. We currently have 91 canines housed at the shelter with a capacity for 111.”
The cost to adopt a dog is $35 for the general public and adoption fees are waived altogether for military veterans with IDs and senior citizens over 65 years of age. Every adoptable animal is neutered or spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and microchipped, which is a value of $200-$500.
Only Cash payments will be accepted at this adoption event.
Regular LASCC adoption hours are from 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at its facility located at 613 W. Pont Des Mouton Rd. in Lafayette.
