The 14th Annual Blackpot Festival is set to be held this weekend at Vermilionville.

Rain or shine, they plan to have three stages with live music.

On Saturday, chefs will be cooking all day, serving up gumbo, jambalaya, cracklins, and other Cajun and Creole favorites.

Admission is $25 on Friday and $35 on Saturday.

Eric Adcock, piano player and songwriter, described what makes the festival so special.

"It's a great melting pot of community. The people who come out here to celebrate great roots music, and everybody as you can see is having a wonderful time, everybody dancing - young and old. It's a wonderful, wonderful time."

The cook-off included five categories: gravy, gumbo, cracklins, jambalaya, and dessert.
