Residents at the Acadia/St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point were treated to a special Independence Day version of their weekly bingo game.
The event included decorations, live Cajun music, and a traditional 4th of July lunch with barbecue hamburgers and sides.
Winners were treated to special gift baskets with "lots of fun treats."
Church Point Mayor Ryan Meche said that the residents, "don't see a lot of people every day, so we just wanted to give back...instead of just taking the day for ourselves..this is the perfect place to do it."
