Rayne Police have identified the person who died in a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.
Robert Gray Jr., 64, of Des Allemands, died in the crash, police say.
The crash happened about 2 p.m. on Interstate 10 east near the Rayne exit.
Rayne Police say Gray was driving a pick-up truck when, for unknown reasons, it left the road and struck the rear of an 18-wheeler that was parked on the shoulder. The driver of a car hit both vehicles and landed in the median, police say.
The tractor-trailer rig was legally parked, police say.
The occupants of the car and the tractor-trailer were all transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, police say.
The Rayne Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance and the Louisiana State Police also responded to the scene and assisted officers.
