Police are searching for a 22-year-old man and a teenager wanted in connection to a shooting Monday at a home in Church Point
Chief Dale Thibodeaux says that officers were called on February 22 to a shots fired call on Marie Street.
Thibodeaux says that when officers arrived they learned that several rounds from a 223 rifle were fired into a residence.
An investigation identified 22-year-old Christopher Freeman and a 16-year-old as suspects in the incident.
Police say the two are also suspected in other shootings in the area that are currently under investigation.
Other arrests are pending in connection with the incident.
Thibodeaux says Freeman is known to be the leader of the street gang 5CM, a local gang consisting of juveniles and younger adults. He says that several other juvenile gang members are also pending charges in Juvenile Court for social media threats and gun violations.
Anyone knowing Freemans location is asked to call the Church Point Police Department at 337 684-5455 or local Law Enforcement.
Police say Freeman is considered to be armed.
Freeman is wanted on the following charges:
- 6 counts Attempted Second Degree Murder
- Contributing to the Delinquency of Juvenile
- Illegal Use of Weapons and Dangerous Instrumentalities
- Convicted Felon in Possession Firearm
Police say the 16-year-old is wanted on a charge of Accessory 6 Counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder.
The juvenile also has pending charges in the District Juvenile Court for Drug and Weapons Violations
